Scott N. Davis is a founding member of Fleissner, Davis and Johnson, focusing his practice on state and federal court litigation in Tennessee and Georgia and counseling clients on a wide range of legal matters.
Scott is married to his college sweetheart, who is also an attorney. Scott and his wife have been blessed with three children, sources of continuous joy and ongoing life lessons not the least of which is compassion. Scott is an active member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
Scott began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force where he gained valuable experience in numerous areas of law including contracts, labor, claims, wills, and military justice. That experience permitted Scott to try a large number of cases in courts martial and administrative hearings early in his career. Following his service as a JAG, Scott worked for a legal software development company established by one of his former law school professors. When that company was acquired by a national corporation, Scott rediscovered his passion for trial work, focusing on criminal defense trying numerous cases to verdict ranging from DUI to murder in front of juries throughout Georgia.
Scott now confines his trial work to the civil realm. He handles a broad range of cases including business litigation, disability, ERISA, insurance defense, personal injury, products liability, and workers’ compensation. Since forming Fleissner, Davis and Johnson, Scott has earned his reputation as a devoted advocate and a skilled trial lawyer.
Scott also provides valuable counsel and guidance to businesses and individuals in a variety of matters. This includes contracts, disputes, and the formation and dissolution of business entities. Many businesses and entrepreneurs look to Scott as “outside in-house counsel” on issues ranging from employment contracts to business deals.
Before embarking on his legal career, Scott served in the United States Air Force as an airborne cryptologic linguist. He subsequently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1991, and in 1994 graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Scott is licensed in Tennessee and Georgia, and is admitted to the federal district courts for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the Northern District of Georgia, and the Middle District of Georgia, as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals. Scott’s memberships, past and present, include the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the Tennessee Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Chattanooga Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court.
